This photo, taken from the CNT Daily Traveler blog, fully encapsulates my brother Benison’s dream trip. My fellow intern Tara actually went to Antarctica one summer as a gift from her grandma (what a cool grandma!). Maybe one day I’ll be lucky enough to send him too. Soon, hopefully, since the U.S. is proposing travel restrictions to the icy continent. Tara did mention not to send him during his “formative years,” seeing as how she wanted to stay and become a penguin researcher.  I’m still partial to the little penguins I swam with in the Galápagos. I’ve raised money and cut 20 inches of hair for this event, but somehow it means so much more to me that he’s doing it. If only I were home to race him around the track!
