I’ve never been an interior decorator, but I get a little frisson of excitement when I think about my first, real, grown-up apartment next year. I want tons of photos (taken by my mom, of course) in simple, black frames. Soft lighting. Stacks and stacks of worn paperbacks. And soft, downy pillows. Can’t wait!!!

How funny, I did this exact same thing this summer! Different words, of course, but it’s such a third-gradey, juvenile, fun (!) thing to do, writing a letter to yourself and opening it at a later date. Try it sometime.
