Yet another reason to love Colin Firth - the other half of his power couple, Livia. After all, you must be pretty amazing if one of the hottest British actors in the world places in you importance before Jane Austen!
via Ecouterre:
Livia Firth may be better known among our circles as the owner of London boutique Eco Age, but at the 83rd Academy Awards tonight, she’s simply Best Actor nominee Colin Firth’s missus. For the conclusion of her Green Carpet Challenge, sponsored by Divine Chocolate, Firth sashayed down the red carpet in a breathtaking gown by British designer Gary Harvey. Harvey upcycled the corseted confection from 11 vintage dresses, each of which hails from the era that The King’s Speech—her husband’s Oscar-nominated film—is based.

“Every element—including zips, corsetry and the original toiles—is recycled,” Firth says on her blog. “The only thing that we’ve used that is new is the thread that actually stitches the dress together.”
Firth is also wearing the world’s first fair-mined, fair-trade-, and ecologically certified gold jewelry.
Aren’t they lovely?
Alexander Wang’s niece, how precious is she?

She epitomizes the “better with age” mentality… How flawless are her hips in the Givenchy gown?! It must be the Justin Long and pilates that’s doing it for her.
She’s everywhere, a testament to the rise of Asian models in the next few years. It makes sense - the fashion industry wants girls with prepubescent bodies and juvenile faces, and they can maintain that look well into their 30s. And can we talk about how they have the best cheekbones??

Tonight might be another missed opportunity to visit The House of Roosevelt. Charlotte Ronson, who is opening two stores in China, is hosting a party on the rooftop. Her arrival has been eagerly anticipated, so I’m sure Vogue, Elle, Bazaar and Grazia will all be there. Getting to the Bund in rush hour traffic in Shanghai is a nightmare, though I’m sure she’ll make it worth the wait. Wishing her luck here! I have a feeling she and her team will spread the word on how incredible SH is upon returning to NYC…

(Notice the spelling error? Tsk tsk, Chinese PR people)
