The Royal Sons - Without You

Comments

众里寻他千百度,蓦然回首,那人却在灯火澜栅处。

You learn something new every day, and this is what I learned today. Basically, in Chinese, it translates into the situation where you’re constantly looking for that special someone, fruitlessly. One day, you all of a sudden turn around, and there he or she is, standing in a dimly lit corner, waiting patiently. Sigh. So romantic.

My boss knows all sorts of these lovely Chinese sayings, and I’m lucky I get to learn them :) Too bad our generation doesn’t know these sorts of things. They only know Jay Chou lyrics, which are fine too…

I loved Google’s first Super Bowl ad, but “Dear Sophie” was even more touching than its predecessor. It reminds me eerily of my childhood, from the younger brother’s arrival (blowing out my birthday candles…), to the face planting (womp), to the Father’s Day sketch (not blessed with Asian artistic genes). NSFW, because you might tear up or cry as I did.

Matt Pond PA - Love To Get Used

“The song has the churning, organic drive of something from a mid-’70s Fleetwood Mac album; 19-year-old Ariel Abshire even stops in to play Stevie Nicks to Pond’s Lindsey Buckingham. Not that Pond sounds anything like LB, mind you; he has in fact long had one of my favorite 21st-century rock’n’roll voices—at once warm and weathered, with an elusive range and a distinctive timbre.” fingertipsmusic

“Were you happy before you met him? She thought about that a moment. I don’t know. Sometimes I was happy. As soon as we met I knew I was unhappy without him.”

You Should Date An Illiterate Girl

By CHARLES WARNKE info

http://thoughtcatalog.com/2011/dont-date-a-girl-who-reads/

But that ain’t me. Granted, the following photo is in the children’s section at my favorite bookstore (Mr. B’s in Bath, England), but I love dear old James, Vlad, and Virginia. Yes, it’s a first name basis kinda love. Can’t forget about our friend Ernie ;)

As I was reminded by my friend:

“that’s one of my first tests of a boy - i ask him what he’s reading and if he doesn’t have an answer he’s not dateable” Well said, and well done, Charles.

I will accept nothing less than passion, and perfection, and a life worthy of being storied.
